Thanks Danny for putting on a discussion from 2 of the best on historical events and macro economics. Enlightening and entertaining. As an exploration geophysicist for 45 years I can support their contention that Trump is in a way protecting the West’s access to very large recent hydrocarbon discoveries along the eastern deep water coast of South America (especially if Iran causes problems of Middle East hydrocarbon access). The optics of blowing up drug boats full of narcotics and bad guys may make interesting TV news but the energy issues are a much bigger issue. Thanks again.
Thank you for this enlightening and fascinating talk. Having Alasdair and Simon give their expert advice and historical background to how and why our world is more upside down, seemingly, each day helps understand the importance of being “awake” to the real changes to do with the purchasing power of the dollar, America, Europe, G7, gold, silver, copper, and other commodities, and more. Please consider this vital resource. So well worth also hearing their personal stories. Truly fascinating.
This may be the best podcast/interview I've ever seen. Informative and fun. Two top notch gentlemen who have seen a lot from their early years. A treat!
A very interesting round of Q and A Alasdair. Having not heard Simon speak before I had no idea what to expect but pleased to see that you're both singing from the same hymn sheet, albeit from different angles. I'm hoping that Danny will be able to get you both back on together around March time for a catch up unless something breaks before hand. I really enjoyed the history lesson and hearing about how connected you are to each other through your fathers too. It's a small world right enough.
It got to the stage of too many voices so I stuck to my core group of Alasdair, Andy S, Matt/Egon and Alex K. I figured that what I didn't get from them wasn't worth worrying too much about. Hence, I'd never clicked onto anything Simon had put out. My loss perhaps but it was getting to a system overload at one point so, like I've said, I've just stuck to my core guys plus the odd other articles that come my way
This may be a fine hairline windscreen crack, that when/if starts to spread, may terrify Belgium into self interest acquiescence and a contributory demise of Euro cohesian. Russians are diligent regarding international law when in their own interests to apply.
Yes. Normally I wouldn't be bothered with it but that article had me hooked this morning and I actually understood it. By the end I was thinking that the EU might just regret their move because it seems that their own riles are about to turn on them.
They're all done ( & they know it ) - the sooner we see ' Ursula Von Der Hitler ' and the totality of her all powerful but UN-ELECTED cohort , convicted in this ' Pfizer Scam ' and then strung up in a long line to dangle in the wind , then all the better - BRING IT ON ..!!
YES , Read this already - read this already and as usual right over the target , as is the entirety of the coverage coming out of ' Global research CA '
China is all about China, if it could simply leave Africa and S. America to vanish in the mist, it would.
The reason(s) it cannot are all Chinese reasons. Seeing them as Cobalt, Oil etc is just a little bit abstract.
This is being left partly unexplored.
Whatever happens next to the unfortunate persons of Africa for example is being decided in China. It will not relate to the tribes in what was Rhodesia or Kenya, who were divided into sets of interests for control purposes by colonial Great Britain, or to any other past we are somewhat familiar with.
None of us are much good at this, but the Chinese are unlikely to choose the fault lines set out for them by the 'past'. That's why they are in 'business' everywhere and take what seems to us to be a transactional view derived from that.
It is not just that the transactional views taken by the West or US about S. America or Ukraine etc. are not useful, but rather that the Chinese are therefore very unlikely to offer opposing global views in their 'transactionalism' because of that. Indeed up to now, notice that they are 'transacting' at a much lower level, and their higher-leve spiel increasingly just offers a very insincere and calibrated megaphone to the most ineffective elements in Western moralism, for example on climate or the environment. Engaging at either level or scale could make them our mere equal, and they are not. They are China!
In the West, we are clearly going to be 'hoist by our own petard' to use a phrase that the two gentlemen in this video might, and China may not want to be very much associated with that process. That's why the tyrants promote climate science, or women's rights, but only up to a point. They are trying to avoid WWIII, while we are about to fall flat on our monetary faces.
There is a Spanish phrase, 'monedas effectivas'. How much use will any oil, grains, tech products etc. be to the West when China has the effective money and doesn't care to buy it?
That is what we need to consider. At present, it is being addressed only by arms production and proxy wars.
Great interview. Coincidentally, my Dad was in the Congo and Burma near that time. He was recipient of the BURMA STAR. Apologies for the short post ,have a very bad arm injury.
That was. Great podcast. On a personal note Alasdair I hadn't realised you had a Kenya connection, my father was in Kenya from the late 50s to 1970 (and again in the early 80s) ending up in the Ministry of Agriculture. Many interesting stories and I'm still in touch with Kenya and ex Kenya friends!
You're on a roll here Colin .........keep it coming . May be ' The Moron ' will be commenting again in the not too distant future ( One has to hope so )

Absoloutley superb on all fronts & long overdue ( let's have another in the near future ) .
Next target " Has To Be " - face to face chat with - DAVID JENSEN ....also long overdue -
may be ask DUNAGUN or MARIO ( MANECO 64 ) to host this & put it on ..??
The only drawback to the bricks is the lack of allowing Christianity
pathetic - there's more Christianity in Russia than the whole of satanic G7 put together.
SPOT ON ( as usual )
BRICS, not bricks. And the S in BRICS has 50m Christians who practice their faith without let or hindrance. The ZCC alone has 8m members.
… and the B and the R both have far more Christians than the S… so, to summarize, you’re a moron.
You're on a roll here Colin .........keep it coming . May be ' The Moron ' will be commenting again in the not too distant future ( One has to hope so )
YES....YES....YES
Ridiculous assertion - do a bit more homework
